Little Hulton and Adlington kept the pressure on leaders Walshaw who had to work hard for a draw at home to Spring View.

The leaders looked to be heading for defeat when View were on 130-2 in reply to the home side's 186-8.

But Walshaw showed they have the mettle as well as the ability to sustain a title challenge as their bowling and fielding tied View down and the visitors finished on 160-6.

Mike Goddard top scored with 60 for Walshaw, with Barry Hamilton smashing 28 in 20 balls late on, John Broad taking 3-45 for View whose top scorer was Paul Matthews with 72 while Jonathan Fielding grabbed three wickets for 49 runs for Walshaw.

Little Hulton did a clinical job on fellow high-flyers Golborne with a five-wicket victory.

David Ainsworth and Andy Sutherland took four wickets apiece as Golborne were whittled out for 116 before the visitors coasted to victory with Alan Gaskell top scoring with 57.

Adlington must have been rubbing their hands when they restricted Daisy Hill to 113-8, Jamie Birch top scoring with 29.

But the high-flyers had to wait until two overs from the end before finally clinching the victory with five wickets to spare.

Adlington pro Matthew Taylor did the business with the ball as he took five Daisy wickets for 54 runs while in their reply Mike Leyland batted right through for 35 runs, taking the brunt of Daisy pro Chris Jones' excellent bowling which saw him take three wickets and give just 19 runs away in 23 overs.

Clifton's Tony Potter followed up, taking seven wickets in one match last week by grabbing six for 24 runs against Lostock.

He and Gary Tonge were a formidable bowling duo with the latter taking 4-21 as Lostock were all out for 90 in reply to Clifton's 139 all out.

Tony Kelly hit 35 and Paul Weir 34 for the victors while Lostock's Adam Syddall took 4-51.
