IPSWICH Town could be about to launch a new bid to take Claus Jensen to Portman Road when manager George Burley returns from holiday today.

And Charlton are considering putting together a £5m package for both Jensen and Mark Fish, who was the subject of a failed bid by the London club a month ago.

The Ipswich move for 23-year-old Danish internationa Jensen was rejected out of hand by Bolton last week.

However,The East Anglian club may not be deterred by Wanderers' rejection.

"I don't think it is anywhere near the valuation we may put on Claus," said Bolton boss Sam Allardyce today.

"And of course from our point of view it is a bigger valuation than Ipswich want to pay. But if it increases then I will have a discussion with the chairman and see which way we go forward."

Allardyce is on record earlier this year of saying that all first division sides would have to sell their best players if the price was right.

And Jensen is clearly one of the most prized assets at the Reebok Stadium.

The player himself again declined to talk about the transfer situation.

"I've had all this speculation before and I really don't want to comment," he said after Bolton's 6-0 defeat by his former club. "It was disappointing for me to miss the game because the club and the people are still close to my heart."

Jensen spent much of the afternoon posing for photographs and signing autographs with the Lyngby supporters, delighted to see the return of their prodigal son.

Meanwhile Charlton's Alan Curbishley, who is reported to have £14m to spend on new players, would like to see both Jensen and Fish move in at The Valley.

His bid for Mark Fish broke down on a medical technicality, according to reports, leaving Curbishley to hint that stage payments may be the answer.

And with him declaring an interest in Jensen, Wanderers could find themselves as auctioneers as Ipswich and Charlton look to outbid each other.
