Diana: A candle in the window I INCREASINGLY find that my respect for the Royal Family is going into rapid decline. No-one can be in any doubt, after their many snubs, that they seem hell bent in their mission to erase the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Well, I can put them all on notice that they will never succeed. There are too many of us who will not let this happen. She alone was the only one of that wretched family who gave me the time of day that same year when I received, by recorded delivery, a card with a beautiful photo of herself being lovingly embraced by her two sons, Princes William and Harry.

A signed message was added, with the words "Dearest Tom". It now holds pride of place in my home. Can anyone envisage any other Royals doing the same? Not a chance.

On Friday, August 4, my thoughts won't be with the Queen Mother. No, indeed, they will be with our Queen of Hearts, Diana. A candle will be lit in the window of my home on that day and I urge any readers who are like-minded to do the same.
