I AM writing about the recent BEN stories that Bolton Council wants to flatten 100 homes on De Lacy Drive because it has been a very troublesome area for many years because of crime and drugs.
If the plans are passed, then they will have to re-house 100 families and possibly sell the land to a housing developer.
I would point out to the council that Skagen Court, near the centre of town, has also got a bad reputation for crime, drugs and prostitution, along with trouble with children running riot all over the place.
Might also something be done with Skagen Court by either knocking it down and starting from scratch, or completely re-modernizing it and bringing it up to modern standards?
The council has a responsibility to the customers who pay them rent and would like to see their properties kept up to scratch instead of letting them run down.
Mr Thomas
