I NOTICED an article recently showing bowlers from Darbyshire Park bowling club, each contrasting in dress, snapped as they were 60 years apart.

Both had much in common, mainly the enjoyment gained from the pleasurable nature of a game which dates back in the sands of time.

How does this relate to a local incident where a gang of youths had the cheek to pen a letter to the press saying, due to lack of recreational ground, they had decided to play knock-about football on the bowling green.

The playing surface was ruined and the green closed. What a selfish attitude from these children (dare I say, yobs). What reasoning: If you don't get what you want, just take away someone else's pleasure.
