A BUSINESS idea thought up on the spur of the moment by a Bolton man could be worth one million pounds.

Ismail Seedat, aged 27, from Derby Street, Bolton, appeared on Channel Four's E-Millionaire Show last night, pitching his idea for a new Internet website.

The law graduate was up against two other competitors, who each gave a presentation detailing their ideas, and were grilled by an expert panel of judges.

Judging has left Ismail in with a chance of progressing into the grand final, the winner of which wins the million pounds towards starting the new business.

Although judges made their decision last night, Ismail will not know how he has finally fared until the results of a telephone viewers' poll are revealed later next week.

Ismail said: "About three months ago I noticed a small article in one of the national newspapers about the programme.

"It got me thinking that I would like to set up my own Internet company.

"I have quite a few ideas, but the one I went with on the programme, was up4rent.co.uk

"It is a comprehensive rental directory which would give an unlimited guide for renting anything from property, yachts, paintballing or corporate facilities.

"There is really nothing like it.

"The website name is such a generic term it could encompass everything."

Despite Ismail's conviction that his idea was a winner, he was stunned to discover out of the 7,000 people who had applied, he was one of only 15 to be chosen to compete on television.

He said: "With the programme everything was done for us.

"I spent five weeks in London attending meeting after meeting to discuss the idea with the best in the business -- specialists involved with marketing, business plans and strategy, and computer experts.

"Jon Snow, the presenter, was also really nice.

"In front of the cameras I couldn't afford to be nervous.

"But I have never done anything like this before so had to build myself up to handle it." Ismail Seedat hopes his idea will win him a £1million on TV
