THE early matches in the BSF Tennis League's Individual Championships at the Bolton School Courts last evening saw the reigning Mens and Ladies Champions make easy progress.
Lisa Cartwright was too strong and consistent for Karen Kay and won 6-0, 6-1, and Martin Robinson beat Neil Haydock 6-0, 6-2. He then returned to court to overcome Andrew Nixon 6-0, 6-4 after a struggle in the second set.
Number two ladies seed, Emma Tootell had a good win, 6-0, 6-2 against Susan Platt, but opposite number in the Men's Event has had to scratch because of injury.
