BOLTON Barbershop Harmony Club members have been singing their way to more success in Brighton.

The Cottontown Chorus went to a special convention for the Millennium this month.

The local singers were determined to better their sixth place at Blackpool last year, and were "absolutely delighted" to come in fourth, just outside the bronze medal position, taking eighth place in the Millennium competition. This was thanks to an excellent performance -- plus much hard work by Mic Dargan the chorus director and Tony Corr, their stage presence expert.

Among their support from other areas, a special thank-you went to the ladies of the Cheshire Chord Company who cheered on their North-west companions in fine style.

Spokesman Peter Carolan adds:"Our thanks must also go to the three make-up artists -- the ladies from Potton chorus who, with the aid of trowels and polyfilla, made us look good on stage!"
