PENSIONERS in Bury will get an insight into the benefits of sheltered housing next week.
Council chiefs have joined forces with Irwell Valley Housing Association and Muir Housing Association to promote Sheltered Accommodation in the borough.
During the week, a series of events are planned at sheltered schemes.
Open days and coffee mornings will provide the opportunity for local people to call in and have a look around for themselves.
Raffles, tombolas, table top sales and even a line-dancing exhibition are extra incentives to go along.
Cllr Kevin Scarlett, Bury Council's health, housing and social services chairman, said: "What we are hoping to do during the week is raise the awareness about Sheltered Housing with members of the public.
"We want to let everyone know what there is available and just how this kind of housing can meet the many and varied needs of older people."
