ORGANISERS of Westhoughton's annual carnival, are on the look out for charity collectors.
As usual, money will be collected from the crowds who flock to see the carnival parade make its way through the streets of Westhoughton, but, as secretary of the carnival committee, Rita Fairhurst points out - the more collectors the more money forgood causes and local charities.
In addition to collectors, organisers are also keen to hear from local charities who would like to be considered for a donation.
Over the years - the carnival is now in its 29th year - thousands of pounds have been donated to local charities.
Organisers are also hoping for the sun to smile down on the event as last year was the fifth in a row to be hit by rain, but despite the weather, all those who turned up had a wonderful time.
