CHORLEY'S Camelot Theme Park and Astley Park are just two hot-spots which are hoped to bring Lancashire to life this summer.

Both parks will play host to the 38th annual Veteran-Vintage-Classic Car Run from Manchester to Blackpool as drivers set out on an 85-mile adventure, taking on board some of the North West's finest attractions.

It is hoped Lancashire's increasingly popular events for visitors will make this year's summer one to remember for the tourism industry.

And to get things off to a fine start, last weekend saw the internationally-renowned Lancashire Clogg and Folk Festival, taking place in Accrington and Oswaldtwistle.

Throughout the weekend, dance teams such as Clogology and the Ossy Cloggers kept alive the century's old tradition of clog dancing. Other events taking place in June also promise visitors to the county an unrivalled range of things to see and do, including Blackburn Millennium Soul Weekend, from June 23 to 25, in conjunction with Jazz FM, eight mile walks across treacherous Morecambe Bay on June 10 and 11, escorted by the Queen's Guide, Cedric Robinson, the Steppin' Line 2000 annual American Line Dance Festival in Blackburn - also on June 10 and 11 and the first Great British Fish and Chips Feast in twin coastal towns Morecambe and Heysham on the weekend of June 24 and 25.

And whether you are into home comforts or not, visitors to Lancashire during the busy tourism season will be guaranteed a wide range of accommodation to relax in after a busy day having fun.

These will range from top hotels with the latest in leisure facilities to country pubs and traditional farmhouse B&B's.

Many special packages, including accommodation, are still available for this coming Bank Holiday and can be accessed by calling the Lancashire tourism hotline on 01772 263399.
