There was a census, through that land,
When the Virgin Mary, carried her son.
From Nazareth they came, I understand,
To register, as David's royal person.
Only a bare stable, could Joseph find.
To house them both, through the night.
Here was born a son,who was so kind,
Who changed man's darkness, into light.
Conceived by the Holy Ghost from God,
The Saviour was born, to save mankind.
He was the beloved, or our living God,
A more humble person, you cannot find.
Jesus was born, on this Christmas Day,
And angels sang, throughout the night.
Peace on earth, goodwill to all, I say,
Thy King has come, to put things right.
Celebrate once more, Jesus's birthday,
The only Son of God, who came to save.
He is the Holy Father, to whom I pray,
When to me, God's Holy Spirit, he gave.
