Wanderers new boy Paul Ritchie experienced an unusual first day to his Wanderers career.

The left sided defender, who is on a three-month loan from Hearts, met his teammates for the first time when they assembled for the Boxing Day trip to Port Vale.

Reebok assistant boss Phil Brown explained: "Paul met the boys for the first time at the pre-match meal and then had to train. We got a lot of good physical work into the lads and Paul was a bit shocked by how hard it was."

Ritchie, a left sided central defender, looks to have played his last game for the Edinburgh club and will be looking to establish himself in the centre of the Wanderers defence to impress the number of clubs, including Rangers, who are interested in signing him.
