EIDUR Gudjohnsen proved once again last night that he has the talent and the determination to make his second chance count. The Icelander, whose career almost ended when he broke his ankle at 17, rescued Wanderers with a late equaliser for the second time in four days, with a goal his old team-mate Ronaldo would have been proud of.

But grateful boss Colin Todd, who saw the former PSV Eindhoven starlet secure a second successive 3-3 draw, says there's more to come from the 20-year-old striker.

"Eidur's a tremendous talent," the Wanderers manager said. "He's shown a lot of self-discipline to get his weight down. He's worked hard, his fitness levels are good and he has a big, big future. "But he can get in even better condition. I've told him that anything we get from him this season is a big bonus for us because I didn't expect him to be pushing for a first team place.

"The goal he scored was excellent."

Top scorer Dean Holdsworth, who converted a 26th minute penalty to take his total for the season to 12, weighed up the emerging threat from Gudjohnsen and new £1 million signing Bo Hansen and acknowledged: "Both of them have bags of potential which is going to be good for competition." Wanderers made Football League history last night when they had four Danish players in their starting line-up.

Denmark's national coach Bo Johansson was in the stands to see Hansen make his full debut alongside fellow countrymen Per Frandsen, Michael Johansen and Claus Jensen.
