INQUIRIES respecting the attempt by students to 'kidnap' the Mayor of Bolton (Ald. J.H. Hampson) on Manchester University Rag Day last week, have now been completed, and the Mayor has received a full report - and an apology. WESTON'S THEATRE AND OPERA house

A great attraction has been provided by Mr Weston for the entertainment of his patrons at the above place next week, in the shape of a new marvellous and astounding trapezeist, the great Zeno. This 'wonder of all wonders' has been engaged by Mr Barnum, the great American showman - whose name is almost a household word both in this country and America - for two years, and previous to his sailing for America, he is 'starring' round the provinces, and will, as above stated, visit Bolton next week, when he will perform feats, such as flying in mid-air, turning double, &c., never before attempted by any trapezeist. Zeno has already won golden opinions in London and the provinces, and a treat may therefore be expected. The great American tragedian, Mr Walter Beaumont, is also engaged with this Company.
