While doing my chores,
There was a knock on the door,
I answered to a man I'd never seen before.
He thrust in my arms a huge bouquet,
Amazing I thought, but this is OK.
There are blossoms of white, pink and blue,
Orange and yellow and purple, just to mention a few.
Quite an assortment of colours with, of course, the green of the fern,
Kaleidoscopic beauty wherever I turn.
But, who's the admirer - a romance of the past?
No, I was to find out, glancing at the card in my grasp,
To "Grannie' it read, with love from Gary.
The lad that I have clobbered,
Was it so necessary? By Mrs A Mayoh
