BOLTON'S Sharon Bass is the perfect advert for mums everywhere . . . and thanks to her daughter, Nicole, everyone is going to know about it.

The six-year-old youngster presented the perfect picture of her "most beautiful" mum to Oil of Ulay competition organisers and now it will feature in the cosmetic company's latest television commercial.

Nicole, a pupil at St Catherine's School, Horwich, decided to enter the Oil of Ulay contest to find the country's "most beautiful mum" when a newsletter advertising it was posted through the door of her home in Horwich, together with a sample. And the crayon drawing she put together of mum Sharon, along with the words she wrote at the bottom, inviting contestants to explain why their mum was the most beautiful, has won her through to the national finals.

Animated

All winning pictures at this stage are set to feature in a television advert tomorrow in which the pictures will be animated.

The overall winning mum will be announced next month and is set to be filmed in person for a television commercial.

Sharon said: "This is the first time she has entered anything like this. I wanted to put the picture she had done up on the wall but Nicole insisted we posted it. I did not think anything of it until someone from Oil of Ulay rang up.

"I was amazed. We do not know what time the commercial will be on, so it looks like I will be watching television all day tomorrow!"

Nicole's winning sentence reads: "My mum is most beautiful because she is kind to me and tucks me in bed at nights."

Sharon said: "It is lovely to hear that. You always like to know that your kids think you are the best, but for someone else to judge that is lovely."

And with regard to Nicole's winning picture - far from being the "most beautiful", Sharon smiled: "It is not really very flattering."
