BOLTON-born soprano Vanessa Nuttall, accompanied by Ted Townsend at the piano, and actress Joanna Lavelle, presents Another Evening of music and Wit at the United Reformed Church of St Andrew and St George, on Saturday, January 30 at 7.30 pm.

Vanessa and Joanna are each raising £1,800 for the Cancer Research Campaign by trekking through the Anti Atlas mountains. Their concerts and sponsorship help them in this.

Vanessa will be performing a varied programme including a selection of songs by Jerome Kern - Long Ago and Far Away, The Way You Look Tonight and The Song is You. There will be songs from Les Miserables, West Side Story, Carousel and Titanic, plus music by Mozart, Viennese arias and Faure's Pie Jesu.

There will also be the usual comedy songs and surprise items.

The programme features Joanna as Shirley Valentine and Joyce Grenfell. Joanna will also be reading her humorous poems as well as some thought-provoking pieces and items in Lancashire dialect.

Tickets of the concert can be obtained from Justicia (at the Church of St Andrew and St George) or on the door.
