I THANK parishioners at the Church of St Thomas and St John and all those in Bolton who took part in The European Children's Trust's annual Harvest Appeal
which raised a fantastic £80,000 and 150,000 bags of sugar, rice and flour were distributed to orphanages and vulnerable families throughout Romania and Bulgaria by the Royal Mail.
This food will enable hundreds of children to stay at home with their families instead of spending this winter in an orphanage.
The money raised is being used to buy extra food in Romania and Bulgaria and will directly support The European Children's Trust's long term projects in helping orphanage children return home or find a loving foster family.
With meteorologists expecting the coldest and longest winter for nine years in Romania, your help was critical. Thank you.
