THE multi-million pound leisure complex in Bolton's Tonge Valley is to have Tom Cobleigh and all. Tom Cobleigh, founded in 1992 by entrepreneur Derek Mapp and sold to Rank plc for £120 million in 1996, specialises in "Unspoilt Pubs for Nice People." The company is to build a £2 million outlet in Watersmeeting Road - one of 25 planned throughout the country during 1998.

Work will start in June and will be completed later in the year.

The overall scheme by Cheshire developer THI - now visible from Crompton Way - includes a 16-screen Virgin cinema and a 25,000 sq ft First Leisure night club.

It is due to open in December.

A Tom Cobleigh spokesperson said there would be between 50 and 60 jobs - full and part-time - at the Bolton pub, which would be named nearer the opening date.

The company's food-orientated premises, which have an average annual turnover of £31/4 million, do not have juke boxes and loud music.

The spokesperson said they were looking for other out-of-town sites in the North-west, including Bolton.

Recruitment is taking place now for "high quality catering managers" and "first class chefs" to fill vacancies at pubs throughout the country, including Bolton, Warrington and Liverpool.
