A GATHERING of Lancashire Morris Teams will take place in Horwich on Saturday the closest Saturday to St George's Day.
The event now in its 10th year, brings together Morris Dancers and musicians from throughout Lancashire and at least one team from outside the area who dance in the Lancashire tradition.
This year eight teams will take part and will dance in procession from the Toll Bar, Chorley New Road, Horwich, leaving at 10.15 via Ramsbottom Road to Church Street, where there will be a break for refreshment and dancing at the Brown Cow and Black Bull for 11am.
After this the procession will move down Church Street and Lee Lane, pausing to dance at The Bridge, The Saddle, The Bowling Green, The Original Bay Horse and the Queens, before returning to the Toll Bar for 2.30.
There will be more dancing in the Toll Bar's yard until around 4pm.
This is a colourful event, with traditional English dancing and music.
