YOUNG ballroom dancer Christopher Holden has taken yet another step on the road to success.

The 12-year-old delighted his family when he danced his way to the finals of an international dancing competition at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.

Christopher, a Westhoughton High School pupil, was the only boy to get through to the finals of the under 14s foxtrot and tango.

The youngster, who lives in Westhoughton, now qualifies for the "juniors" when he enters competitions and is competing against older boys and girls.

Christopher's partner is 12-year-old Laura Marshall of Bramhall, Stockport.

The pair were competing in the Junior Dance Festival in Blackpool, which ran over Easter and they finished sixth in the final.

Christopher was encouraged on his way by mum, 37-year-old Karen, dad Arthur, 38, and 14-year-old brother James.

The youngster is dedicated to his dancing with lessons and regular practices every week.
