Bolton Wanderers Res 1, Oldham Athletic Res 1 WANDERERS Reserves produced a second half recovery to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Oldham at Hilton Park last night.

On a heavy pitch, Bolton fell behind in the eighth minute when David McNiven got a touch to a powerful cross from full back Scott McNiven.

Arnar Gunnlaugsson had a great opportunity to level in the 19th minute when he was put through by Nicky Spooner. He rounded the keeper but was forced wide and his shot went across the face of an empty goal. The Icelander was substituted soon after through illness.

The second half was played in a downpour but Wanderers dominated and created a number of chances.

Lee Pryers put in a left wing cross that substitute Costas Xiourouppa got onto the end of only to see Oldham keeper David Miskelly save well.

Noel Corrigan fired narrowly wide from 20 yards and Xiourouppa again forced Mishelly into a magnificent save in the 70th minute.

Lee Potter was put in by Xiourouppa five minutes later but he sent his right foot shot the wrong side of the post.

The equaliser finally came six minutes from time. Dangerman Xiourouppa capitalised on some hesitancy in the Oldham defence to volley into the net from 25 yards out.

Team: Glennon, Corrigan, Pryers, Holden, Whitehead, Strong, O'Malley (Power), Spooner, Potter, Gunnlaugsson (Xiourouppa), Doherty.
