Marwill Cricket League. LAST season's cricket champions Hoghton failed to pick up where they left off, losing comprehensively to a rejuvenated Walton-le-Dale side.

G Turner hit 40 for Walton, who reached 103-9 before Hoghton came into bat. They struggled to 75-8, with N Greenwood hitting 38 not out. Winstanley took five of Hoghton's wickets for just 20 runs.
