COUNCILLOR Alan Whittaker officially took over as the Mayor of Chorley at a town hall ceremony this week.
Coun Whittaker and Mayoress Stephanie Heffron were sworn in at a council meeting on Tuesday evening.
Coun Whittaker succeeds Lindsay Hoyle MP as mayor. The deputy mayor will be coun Florence Molyneaux and her daughter coun June Molyneaux is deputy mayoress.
