SIR: I felt I had to write regarding the article headed, 'Tummy pains point to adult anxiety' (BEN, April 17).
My son who is nine years old has suffered for over three years with recurrent abdominal pains.
We were told it was appendicitis (taken out), after-pains from his operation, stomach migraine, stress and even "it's all in your head son".
After many trips to the doctors and several stays in hospital, he was finally referred to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Pendlebury where it was discovered that he had a blocked kidney, which is only functioning 25 pc.
So to all you mums and dads out there, listen to your own instincts and don't worry about being labelled 'neurotic'.
