JOHN Monie could finish his career with Wigan Warriors.

Speculation has been rife that the little Aussie could end his coaching days at Newcastle Knights if as expected Malcolm Reilly leaves at the end of the saeason.

But Monie, who has quickly transformed the Warriors into a formidable force since taking over the Central Park reins in December, says he will probably call it a day after his contract ends with Wigan.

"This will be my lost job and I'll be going back to Australia and putting my feet up."

Monie confirmed that moves by Bradford to sign Daryl Cardiss and London for Rob Smyth have been turned down.

"We only have a small squad of around 24 guys of which 20 are what I class as first grade. These two are part of the squad and I wouldn't like to lose them. If they went we would be really bare."

Wigan have no injury problems as they prepare for Sunday evening's televised clash at home to London Broncos. Monie is forced to make one change as Henry Paul misses the game after being called up to the New Zealand squad that meets Australia on Friday night.

"It is a great news for Henry to be called up and for him to be noticed as there are many top Kiwis playing in the Australian competition," added Monie.
