SIR: I read the letter by Mrs J Booth (Points of view, April 10) and I thank the BEN for printing it. No wonder Mr/Mrs Booth were offended following the reported article on March 26.
When will the planning committee in Horwich get their act together? Surely they should have learned a lesson from last year's fiasco when they had egg on their faces following the notice taken of one or two jealous, selfish, narrow-minded persons who called themselves neighbours. The planning application denied then, now greatly enhances the area concerned.
What right has the planning committee to disregard the law of planning and its regulations? If the planning persons in Horwich are unable to understand these laws and regulations, and are unable to make the right decisions, I suggest they resign and let someone who is educated enough to understand the law, and capable of making these simple decisions, do the job.
Mrs K Johnson
Mallard Drive, Horwich.
