SIR: Surely many local people will have found the recent comments on the Points of view page regarding a second pregnancy for Ruth Kelly uncalled for. Not a dyed in the wool political activist myself, I did, however, support Tom Sackville as my Member of Parliament.
Although not a spokesman for him, I feel sure that like the true gentleman and family man he undoubtedly is, I can safely say that he also would find this criticism of his successor distasteful.
As for asking her to resign, it is possible that, judging by the attitude of her two male counterparts to certain issues, when it comes to representatives for this town at Westminster, we in Bolton West have been blessed with the best once again.
