DRAGON-mania is set to hit the town today with a week of events to celebrate St George's Day.
Youngsters will be invited to enter colouring competitions and a writing contest about what it would be like to have a pet dragon.
Grown-ups can join in the fun too with a competition to come up with words and phrases related to St George. Prizes include more than £125 of gift vouchers, champagne, flowers and St George's Day goodie bags.
All the events are part of the English Tourist Board's efforts to celebrate England's patron saint, St George.
Competition entry forms are available from the Ticket and Information Centre in the Town Hall, Boots, Crompton Place Shopping Centre, The Market Place, M&S, Sainsbury's and the St George's Craft Centre.
