So now it's spring and once again

The world can lose its winter's frown,

Forget the dank and gloomy days

And earth can wear her greatest gown.

Bring out the bats and cricket stumps

The tennis racquets, the fishing line.

The summer's games will suit you best

So come outside the air's like wine.

The country calls the fields are green

So take a pleasant evening stroll.

It's pancake time and Easter cake

And 'Sermons' days, good for the soul.

Spring is the herald of the year

Calling to all enjoy the days.

With gentle rain and lots of sun

Received by us with grateful praise. By Mrs Mary Heppenstall
