CHRISTMAS comes but TWICE a year for one Bolton family who double up on the festive fun. Maureen Walsh, her partner Jack Taylor and her daughter Rachael, 17, celebrate their first Christmas in December like everybody else. But instead of taking down the decorations, they do a complete re-run of the big day, including traditional turkey dinner and presents at the end of January.

Christmas number two at their home on Copperfields, Chew Moor, is in aid of Jack's daughter Debra who lives and works abroad but comes back to Bolton every January.

"We do it because she is always somewhere hot and really misses all the razzmatazz of a traditional Christmas," explained Maureen.

"We keep the trees and the decorations and Rachael makes the Christmas pudding and the mince pies.

"People walking past must think we are mad to see the fairy lights on the trees and a Christmas wreath on the front door at the end of January but we really enjoy it."

This year the family are set to expand and are preparing to hold Christmas number THREE.

"Debra enjoys it so much that we have decided to do the same for a friend who lives in Minorca and is coming to visit at the end of the week," laughed Maureen.
