UP to 2,000 members of the Bolton Asian community are expected to take part in a town centre march in memory of tragic taxi driver, Quadir Hussain on Saturday. Mr Hussain, 32, died after an alleged incident in his cab on the Saturday before Christmas. As the father-of-two ran away, he collided with a car travelling along St Peter's Way. Family and friends, together with neighbours and other members of the community intend to pay their respects during the march and to also highlight the dangers taxi drivers face on a daily basis.

The procession has been organised by the Asian community and has the co operation of Bolton Police who will be diverting traffic throughout the afternoon.

Those taking part will congregate at Burnden Park from noon and the march is due to start at 12.45pm.

The procession will move down Manchester Road onto Bradshawgate pausing outside Bradshawgate Taxis, where Mr Hussain worked.

The march will then turn onto Great Moor Street, Newport Street, Thynne Street, onto Orlando Bridge, and back to Burnden Park, where family members will speak and prayers will be held.
