THE acclaimed Bridge String Quartet from London returns this Sunday to the Bolton School's Art Centre where they will continue their series of four concerts based on the American Dream. They will perform the American Quartet by Dvorak and Beethoven's Quartet Op. 59 No 3 in C. As usual, there will be short introductions to the pieces by members of the Quartet. After the concert, which is sponsored by Hare's Structural Engineers, the audience will be invited to join the Quartet for afternoon tea.

This concert marks the end of a chamber music weekend for adults and children at the school.

Amateur string quarters will be coached by members of the Bridge Quartet on Saturday and Sunday mornings and the weekend includes an open rehearsal by the Quartet.

Every summer the Quartet coaches at an international amateur music course in Switzerland.

This August, they will coach and perform at the famous Dartington International Summer School where they will perform all four quartets by their namesake, Frank Bridge.

Their next CD is due to be released early this year on the Meridian label.
