SIR: The National Canine Defence League (NCDL) would like to thank everyone who kindly supported the charity last year. Sadly, thousands of dogs are abandoned throughout the year and the problem is often particularly acute during the 'season of goodwill'. The NCDL is totally reliant upon voluntary contributions to ensure that all of the dogs in our nationwide network of rescue centres receive the love, kindness and second chance they deserve.
If you are thinking about getting a dog, why not consider a rescue dog? Our centres are full after a busy Christmas, and we have many dogs who are looking for a special new home. If you would like to visit the rescue centre, please telephone us to confirm our opening times.
Once again, on behalf of all the staff and canine residents, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our friends and supporters who have helped us in 1997.
