SIR: I refer to Doreen Crowther's article of January 3 - Little ole wine drinker me!
Doreen is right, wine drinking doesn't stop north of Watford. However, having read her article, I am not surprised provincial journalists are not often invited to such grand wine tastings.
As one of those north of Watford, who drinks wine, I was very disappointed. I am sure Wines of Spain would rather she had described the wines than her unease at spitting in public.
She tasted over 30 wines, but only saw fit to mention two. I would be surprised if those were the only ones worthy of comment.
I was misled by the accompanying photograph of Jilly Goolden, and was expecting comment on the styles, quality and value for money of the wines tasted.
Disappointed wine drinker!
