DETECTIVES were continuing their hunt today for a man who stole a car and drove off while the owner's children were asleep inside. As reported in yesterday's BEN, John Berry's children were driven for almost 30 minutes before they were dumped unhurt in Radcliffe.

The white Mazda 626 was later recovered by police and was being examined by police forensic experts today.

Mr Berry's children, Jacob, aged 10, and Ben, 14, were asleep in the car when he called at a shop on Redvales Road, Bury, on Sunday evening.

Ben was later left on Kingston Way, Radcliffe and Jacob was given to a woman a short distance away.

Mr Berry, who had left the keys in his car while we went to the shop, has warned other parents to always take their keys with them, even if they are only leaving the car for a few seconds.
