LEIGH RMI, the Unibond Club Of The Month, travel to Altrincham tonight in a hastily re-arranged Premiership game.

They received their award after five wins and a draw in their six outings during December and ironically enough, their seventh game should have been at Altrincham, but Moss Lane was waterlogged on Dec. 27 and Saturday's home fixture with bottom club Alfreton befell the same fate.

The Altrincham cancellation began a period of inactivity for The Railwaymen who haven't kicked a ball in anger since beating FA Cup heroes Emley on Dec. 20.

They are unbeaten in eight games and manager Steve Waywell said: ''The players deserve this accolade because they have shown a professional attitude recently but the award reflects on everybody at the football club.''

Waywell will stick with the 14 he named for the Alfreton game with Martin James, Phil Brown and Keith Evans on the bench.

The suspended Eric Rostron makes way for Ian Brady with Waywell hoping to dominate midfield with four central players, although Rostron's work-rate will be missed.

''Altrincham will be out for revenge after we beat them in the President's Cup. We scored an early goal but then they bombarded us but could not break us down. That result will count for nothing as we had several regulars out, a far cry from tonight when I have a fully fit squad,'' added Waywell.
