SIR: In reply to Ken Danby (December 30), I would like to remind him that no-one likes the yearly rises of the Poll Tax and one wonders when will it stop.

As regards his advice to the Council, on saving money, it is a load of hogwash as also was his advice on who should be in charge of the Council.

Remember we have a democratic system of election, through the ballot box and the people elect some who they believe are suitable, and discard the others.

So I would say to Ken Danby, our councillors do not need his advice, and to let the people's choice get on with the job they were elected to do, by the people, for the people.

That's how I see it.
