SIR: Would you please extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Paul and Clive, from Bolton Highways Department, who rescued my French friends stranded in Le Mans Crescent, on the evening of December 23.
One of them had dropped his car keys down a grid, and on requesting help at the local police station, the men from Highways retrieved the keys within 10 minutes. A marvellous response to a cry for help.
