Garden of seasons My garden is a cheerful place

In Spring when daffs and tulips race

To greet the lemon sorbet sun

Spring cleaned by showers, every one!

My garden in a lively place

In Summer when pansies fight for space

And shove aside my favourite fern

Unravelling in my posh new urn!

My garden is a pleasant place

In Autumn when crisp leaves upstage

Pansy, fern and potted plants

September sunshine ignores the damp!

My garden is a wondrous place

In Winter when snow and ice grace

Lawns and paths with virgin white

My garden then is pure delight! Betty Lightfoot
