A DEDICATED Bolton Wanderers fan has hit out at his favourite club in a dispute over season ticket refunds. Mark Walker says he has been left fuming after being "messed around" by club officials. Mr Walker, aged 32, claims he has been given a series of conflicting messages about the refund policy on part used season tickets.

The problems began when his friend Rod Russell moved away to Scotland earlier this season.

Mr Walker, of Johnson Fold, had bought the ticket in the lower tier of the west stand for his friend and wanted to get a part refund.

He said: "I spoke to the club and told I could have a full refund. Then they said I could only have £100 for it. I said I'd have the seat back but they'd sold it to someone else then. After I complained I was told again I'd get the refund on the matches not used."

There were 11 home league matches left in the season ticket book and match-day tickets for that section of the ground are £16, making a total of £176.

Eventually Mr Walker's wife went to the Reebok Stadium to collect the refund because he was busy at work. But she was only given £100.

Mr Walker, who has been a season ticket holder for the past decade, said: "I love the Wanderers but this has made me think again about whether the club really cares about its regular fans any more."

Bolton Wanderers chief executive Des McBain said: "There is no set criteria for refunds on season tickets. In fact many clubs make no refunds at all. We try and be fair and give something back, but there is no fixed formula.

"However, if Mr Walker wants to come down and discuss it we may be able to find him two seats together elsewhere in the ground."
