A MAN and woman found dead in a Leigh house could have been dead for more than five weeks, it emerged today.

The bodies were found in an upstairs bedroom at the house in Glebe Street early yesterday after police broke the door down.

Police broke in after relatives and neighbours grew concerned.

A post mortem yesterday proved inconclusive and more tests were continuing today amid reports the deaths could be drug related.

Police have still not been able to formally identify the bodies because of their condition and dental records may have to be checked.

But neighbours believe the dead couple were Barry Stout and Lisa Rattigan. They have described Mr Stout as a heroin addict.

Neighbour David Inman said there had been trouble with noise coming from the house at all hours.

"It made our lives a misery, although we've not heard anything in the last few weeks."

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Stout was on November 10. Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the deaths.
