SIR: In the national newspapers, they say that dog racing is becoming popular again. Who was responsible for closing down Bolton's Dog Track at Manchester Road?
Why on earth did the leisure planners not see this possible popularity and add a dog track at Reebok Stadium, just like the White City and Wembley Stadiums in London.
I had many a pleasant evening there. Sometimes I was downhearted, but I enjoyed them just the same.
It is also reported that you can have an evening meal, with waiter service, a beer and entrance fee for about £20, and nine times out of 10, you can get it all back on the first race.
This sport is more enjoyable than watching 22 male ballet dancers kicking and passing a ball about for 90 minutes. And afterwards you don't come home with a pocket full of money.
