SIR: I can't see what all the fuss was about when hundreds of motorists were booked for parking without lights in a 40mph zone during the recent Wanderers match.
If they had had any sense, they would simply have driven on the pavement and parked there.
All over the Bolton area, people are doing the same, and for some reason that no-one has ever explained, police turn a complete 'blind eye' to the lawbreakers.
Perfect examples are the upper part of Tottington Road, Harwood where the whole pavement has been commandeered for cars. And in Higher Bradshaw Road, Bradshaw, walkers have to step into a very fast road to get round the parked cars.
I would hate to be a child again. At least pavements were safe havens when we were kids.
Incidentally, why are our road safety officers not constantly drumming away at this issue?
