SIR: It is gratifying to know that my faith in the Bolton Wanderers Supporter has been restored. In recent years these reformed paragons of virtue, these wonderful gentle supporters have won the praise of councillors, directors of the club and even in some cases the general public.
Then they move to Horwich, where on Saturday September 20, I witnessed fights, abusive language and behaviour, rude gestures to an 80-year-old lady resident and then a good, law-abiding supporter urinating on a friend's hedge.
Thank you BWFC supporters for proving to me you have reverted to type and become once more the advert for your club I always knew you were.
A resident of Horwich
