SIR: Reading a letter in Thursday's BEN sent by Mrs Anne Entwistle, I, too, am wondering where my letter and cheque, sent to my grandson, has ended up. I myself put it in the postman's bag as he was collecting the mail on Monday, September 22, at Turton Post office at 11 o'clock with a first class stamp. By Friday, September 26, he still hadn't got it. It was to go to Nottingham.
I posted a letter to the same address on Thursday, September 25, with a first class stamp. They rang to say that it had arrived this morning. When I asked after the other letter, no, they hadn't got it.
I suppose all I can do is go to the TSB and cancel the cheque, hoping it hasn't already been cashed. It is very frustrating
