A BOLTON primary school is hoping to hit the high note this Christmas by forming a brass band - but they need musical instruments.
St Bede's Primary School on Morris Green Lane is urging retired musicians to dust down their old instruments and give them a good home.
Parent Teacher Association chair Mrs Angela Hardman said:"We have never had a brass band before and the children are really excited about it.
"But due to funds going on books and computer equipment we haven't the money to spend on expensive equipment.
"We are hoping people who have musical instruments tucked away in cupboards will donate them. We'll accept anything, even recorders and tamborines."
Anyone who can help should contact the school on 01204 61899 or 407687.
