ALAN Thompson is destined for England.
That's the belief of Wanderers boss Colin Todd who is helping the young Geordie blossom into an outstanding Premiership talent.
"I know a lot of managers admire Alan Thompson because at 23 he has a lot to look forward to," enthused Todd who saw the midfielder turn in another dominant performance at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
"He gets forward well and it is only a matter of time before he gets recognised as an international."
Meanwhile, Thompson confirmed he is happy to stay a Wanderers player after hearing of the speculation of a £4million interest from Spurs which his boss described as "pure speculation".
Thompson said: "I only signed a three-year contract in the summer and things are happening at this club.
"The chairman is ambitious, the manager has money to spend, we have a great ground and we are going to be a force to be reckoned with."
