PAUL Payton conducts The Messiah for the first time on Saturday at the Victoria Hall, Bolton, as part of the worldwide BT Voices for Hospices 1997.
Members of 18 local choirs will be singing and they will be joined by an orchestra drawn from the Bolton Symphony Orchestra, Bolton Chamber Orchestra, Bolton Youth Orchestra, Corus Brass and other groups. Soloists will be Alan Roscoe (baritone), Jill Taylor (soprano), Dianne Matthews (mezzo soprano) and Martin Roche (tenor).
Tickets for The Messiah, which starts at 7.30 pm, are available from the Victoria Hall Shop, Bolton Hospice, all the hospice shops and members of the hospice fund-raising committees.
